On song at the W3 acoustic evening
Whaley Water Weekend (W3) got off
to a wonderful start with the
first ever Acoustic Fest on a Friday
night.
Acoustic star Linda Simpson, former member of Magna Carta and
organiser of the evening, welcomed
fans in the early evening sunshine.
Tony Boden was the compere.
Within less than an hour, the
wharfside of the canal, in front of
the stage , was packed.
W3 chairman Barry Rudd said:
"It was the best possible start we could have had. We are very pleased."
Officials are already looking ahead
to 2012 - the Queen's jubilee year
as well as Olympic year - to kickstart
the Water Weekend in similar fashion.
Good evening, Whaley Bridge!
